Women's Distance Runners Shine Thursday at Tennessee Relays

KNOXVILLE, TN – The UNC Asheville distance runners helped open the Tennessee Relays on Thursday at the Tom Black Track Complex on the University of Tennessee campus.

 

 

The Bulldogs had multiple runners in both the men's and women's 10,000-meter run, the only event with Asheville athletes in the meet's opening day.

 

 

All three Asheville runners finished inside the top-11 in the women's run that featured 32 total participants, led by Kasey Briggs' fifth place finish with her 38:50.06 time. Erin Dalton finished ninth with her time off 29:23.72, followed moments later by Sarah Heisner in 11th place with her 39:36.49 mark.

 

 

In the men's race, Kevin Paradise finished with a time of 35:33.96 for a 25th place mark.

 

 

The action continues on Friday as the bulk of the Bulldog teams take part in the full slate of events. Action kick off at 11:45 a.m. with the running events at the Tom Black Track Complex.
