Track and Field Teams Compete at Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's and women's track and field squads opened the 2015 outdoor season with some impressive results at the 49ers Classic on Friday.

 

Senior John Bellard took fifth in the javelin with a throw of 54.15 meters against a very strong field.

 

On the women's side, Kasey Briggs finished seventh in the 5000 meters as she posted a time of 17.55.40. Kelsie Rubino came in 10th in the 1500 meters at a time of 4:44.60.

 

Argia Gibson came in 11th in the long jump at 5.32 meters.

 

Action will continue on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the start of field events with running events starting at Noon.
