Track and Field Teams Open Outdoor Season at Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville track and field teams open their outdoor season today when the Bulldogs travel to Charlotte to take part in the 49er Classic at the Irwin Belk Track Complex.
Asheville looks forward to the opening of the season as most of the Bulldogs will compete on Friday and Saturday.
“Charlotte is a good place for us to begin the outdoor season,” stated Asheville coach Jesse Norman. “It's a good meet with excellent competition. We'll have a good idea where we stand coming off the indoor season.”
Field events begin on Friday at 11 a.m. with the hammer throw completion on the women's side. Running competition starts at 1 p.m. with the women's 100 meter hurdles.
