UNC Asheville Welcomes In New Era of Men?s Soccer

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – A new era of UNC Asheville men's soccer began on Wednesday with the introduction of new head men's soccer coach Mathes Mennell. 

 

Mennell joins the Bulldogs from Loyola Marymount University in California, where he served as an assistant coach for the past 14 years.  Before LMU, Mennell served as an assistant at the Air Force Academy after returning from active duty following graduation from the Academy.

 

“We are going to build a program that will be based on character and development of student-athletes.  You do that and you win games,” said Mennell.

 

Mennell will begin his first season with a short spring schedule, before beginning his first season at the helm in the fall.
