Bulldogs Post Solid Results at Marshall Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The UNC Asheville men's and women's indoor track and field teams posted some solid results at the Marshall Invitational this weekend.
The Bulldog men's squad took fourth place in the eight-team field with 39 points, while the women came in fifth at 37 points.
On the women's side, Argia Gibson had a great day in field events. She took second place in the long jump at 5.41 meters and fourth in the triple jump at 11.12 meters. Gibson also took eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.08.
Kelsie Rubino finished fourth in the mile (5:07.77) and 800 meters (2:19.07). Sarah Heisner took fifth in the mile at 5:14.15. Scarlett Beamon came in seventh at 5:24.26. Alyssa Lashway captured eighth in the 800 meters (2:22.06) and Casey Greenwalt took ninth (2:22.89).
The Bulldogs had three runners in the top eight in the 3000 meters. Adrian Etheridge finished sixth (10:33.97), Erin Dalton took seventh (10:35.6) and Amy Castle came in eighth (10:36.59).
Kassandra Pierre finished third in 400 meters at 58.61. She posted a time of 8.08 in the 60 meters.
Highlighting the men's side was John Bellard in the high jump as he finished third with a leap of 1.80 meters.
In the mile, Caleb Smith took fifth in the mile at 4:19. He took 11th in the 800 meters at 2:01.58.
In the 3000 meters, Andy Thornburg finished fourth in the 3000 meters (8:44.02), followed by Dominic Collichio (8:44.59) in fifth place.
Sergeneno Rankin finished fifth in the 400 meters by posting a time of 51.14.
