Track and Field Heads to Marshall This Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The UNC Asheville men's and women's indoor track and field squads will compete in the Marshall Invitational today and tomorrow. The meet will take place at the Jeff Small Track in the Chris Cline Athletic Complex's indoor facility.
Competition among eight women's teams and five men's squads begins Friday at 6 p.m. and runs for approximately 2 1/2 hours. The Saturday schedule begins at 9 a.m. for field events, with running events commencing at noon. The meet is expected to be completed by 4:15 p.m.
Scheduled to join the Bulldogs in the women's competition are Virginia Tech, Ohio, Radford, Morehead State, Marshall, Duquesne and Wofford. Men's teams are scheduled from Marshall, Virginia Tech, Wofford, Duquesne, and Morehead State.
“This will be a nice meet for us to compete in before we go to the Big South Conference Championships in two weeks,” stated Asheville coach Jesse Norman. “We'll see some good competition this weekend and we're going to work on getting sharper for the conference championships.”
