ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team hits the road for the final time in the 2015 regular season this weekend with a pair of Big South Conference matches at Presbyterian and Winthrop as the Bulldogs continue to work towards the best possible seeding in conference tournament later in the month.
NOTABLES
-The Bulldogs have dominated the fourth set of matches, winning nine of 13 total fourth sets this season. Asheville has recorded half of their 12 total victories in four sets this season.
-As a team, Asheville is second in the Big South Conference in total blocks (183.0) and blocks per set (2.20/per). The Bulldogs are third in the BSC in team hitting percentage (.214) through Halloween weekend.
-Madison Vaughn is second in the Big South in a pair of categories – total blocks (99.0) and blocks per set (1.11/per).
-In conference matches, Vaughn is sixth in the league in total hitting percentage (.385) and Cameron Pryor sits eighth with a .318 mark.
-Freshman Cara Guthrie is second in the conference in total service aces (16) and third in the BSC in aces per set (0.47) through October.
-The Bulldogs' victory over Presbyterian (10/10) pushed them to the 10-win mark for the 14th time in the last 16 seasons. One of the most consistent teams in the conference, Asheville's only hiccups were in 2001 (7-21 record) and 2014 (8-22).
-Since 1994, Asheville is: 11-4 against Presbyterian and 17-28 against Winthrop. Earlier this season, the Bulldogs fell to Winthrop 3-1 and beat Presbyterian 3-0, both at home inside Justice Center.

-Following this weekend's matches, Asheville returns home to close the regular season against Liberty and Radford. Prior to Friday night's matchup against Liberty, the Bulldogs will celebrate their five member senior class. Friday's match is set to start at 7:00 p.m., with a 2:00 p.m. start on Saturday afternoon.
