ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team begins the final stretch of the regular season with a pair of critical Big South Conference matchups at home inside the Justice Center this weekend. The Bulldogs, currently fourth in the conference standings, welcome High Point to town on Friday night before entertaining Campbell on Saturday afternoon. High Point enters the weekend second and Campbell sits sixth in the BSC standings.

 

NOTABLES

-Including this weekend's matchups, Asheville will play four of their final six regular season matches at home inside the Justice Center. The Bulldogs close the regular season with home matchups against Liberty and Radford in two weeks.

 

-The Bulldogs have dominated the fourth set of matches, winning seven of 11 total fourth sets this season. Asheville has recorded five of their 11 victories in four sets.

 

-Four of Asheville's final six regular season matches are at home inside Justice Center, where the Bulldogs are 7-1 overall this season.

 

-Asheville does not have a player that has played in every set this year, however, three Bulldogs have played 73 total sets. Christine Lakatos (179 total kills, 2.45 per set) and Catherine Fischer (135 total kills, 1.85 per set) lead Asheville in that category, while Madison Vaughn (88.0 total blocks, 1.21 per set) is tops in that category for the Bulldogs.

 

-Since 1994, Asheville is: 30-6 against High Point and 16-3 against Campbell. The Bulldogs fell at High Point last season and won on the road at Campbell.
