NOTABLES

-Asheville has scored 12 goals of its' 17 total goals in the second halves of matches this year.

-Zach Joens scored two goals against Liberty last Saturday, tying the match before later scoring the game winner. Saturday's game was the first time all season that an Asheville player has scored multiple goals in a single game.

-Joens leads Asheville in multiple statistical categories, including: goals (8), points (16), total shots (28) and shots on goal (19).

-Similar to the Bulldogs, who have just six home matches at Greenwood Field this season, Georgia State has also been on the road a majority of their season. Tuesday's match will be one of seven total home games for GSU.

-Asheville and Georgia State will have four common opponents this season: Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, Appalachian State and Wake Forest. Asheville is 0-3 with a match against Presbyterian next week, while GSU was 3-1 in their meetings.

-The Bulldog victory on Saturday night matches their win total from 2013 and 2014. It is the sixth time in the last 10 seasons Asheville has notched five or more wins in a season.

QUOTABLES

“Georgia State is a team that presents a unique opportunity for us. We have played common opponents and they have played better against those opponents. It will be an opportunity to face a quality team on the road who uses a different formation and system then we are used to. It will be a great test for our guys. We want to continue playing the way we did the other night against Liberty. The key to us continuing to get better, is we have shown we can be good, now can we be consistent? That's what we are looking for tomorrow.” – head coach Mathes Mennell

UP NEXT

-Following Tuesday's match, the Bulldogs remain on the road for a Halloween night Big South matchup at Longwood at 7:00 p.m. in Farmville, Virginia. Asheville returns home November 4 to host Presbyterian.
