ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team makes the trek to the South Carolina coast for two critical Big South Conference matches this weekend, taking on Charleston Southern Friday night before a matchup with Coastal Carolina on Saturday afternoon.
NOTABLES
-Chrissy Lakatos leads the Bulldogs with 2.60 kills per set (169 total kills), while Cara Guthrie has 2.00 kills per set (120 total kills).
-Setters Amanda Powers (5.87) and Katie Davis (5.08) combine to set up the Bulldogs' offense.
-Senior Bryn Pfeiffer enters the weekend ranked 19th nationally in Digs per Set (5.16/per) and is ranked third in the Big South in that category. Pfeiffer's 284 total digs to date is the fourth-most in the BSC and is 75th nationally.
-Since 1994, Asheville is: 30-8 against Charleston Southern and 12-25 against Coastal Carolina. The Bulldogs split the season series 1-1 with both teams last season. The Bulldogs' 30 victories over the Bucs is tied for the most wins by Asheville over a single program since 1994 (30-6 all-time vs. High Point).
