Cross Country Travels to Pre-Nationals

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville cross-country teams will head to Kentucky to compete Saturday morning in the Pre-Nationals race. The men are coming off a third place finish at the Gene Mullin Invitational in Greenville, South Carolina, while the women took fourth place at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, North Carolina.
NOTABLES
-In three races each this season, the Bulldog men have two second place team finishes at the Western Invitational and the UNC Asheville Invitational and one recent third place finish at the Gene Mullin Invitational. The Asheville women opened the fall with a second place finish at Western Carolina followed by a first place finish at the UNC Asheville Invitational before their recent fourth place finish at the Royals Challenge.
-Sarah Heisner continues to lead the Bulldogs with an eighth place finish at the Royals Challenge after previously being named the Big South Conference's women's runner of the week after her performance at the UNC Asheville Invitational.
-Dominic Collichio is coming off a 12th place finish, first for the Bulldogs, at the Gene Mullin Invitational. Collichio has recorded the fastest times for the Bulldogs in the previous three races.
-The meet has expanded from four to six races. The first two races will be seeded races and the final race will be an open.
-The men will be one of 35 teams competing in the unseeded race. The women will be one of 42 teams competing in the unseeded race.
