ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team hits the road for its first Big South Conference road trip this weekend, traveling to Virginia to take on Radford Friday night and Liberty on Saturday afternoon.
NOTABLES
-UNC Asheville has won seven of its last nine matchups.
-As a team, the Bulldogs are second in the Big South in Blocks per Set (2.44/per) behind Winthrop's 2.48 average. Asheville ranks 57th in the country in Blocks per Set.
-Junior Madison Vaughn leads the Big South in Blocks per Set (1.28/per) and is ranked No. 46 nationally in that category. Vaughn's 59 total blocks is the third-most in the BSC.
-Senior Bryn Pfeiffer enters the weekend ranked 27th nationally in Digs per Set (5.04/per) and is ranked third in the Big South in that category. Pfeiffer's 237 total digs to date is the fourth-most in the BSC and is 96th nationally.
-The last time the Bulldogs opened Big South play 2-0 was during the 2010 season when they opened the BSC schedule 3-0 with wins over Gardner-Webb, Coastal Carolina and at Radford.
-All-time, Asheville is: 23-18 against Radford and 15-30 against Liberty. The Bulldogs lost both matches to Radford last season and split with Liberty, including a 3-0 victory last November in Lynchburg.
