Women's Swimming Travels to Greensboro on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's swimming team returns to the pool on Saturday when the Bulldogs travel to Greensboro for a double dual meet with Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association foes North Carolina A&T and North Florida. Saturday's meet is scheduled to start at Noon.
Asheville picked up its second dual meet win of the year last week with an easy 214-44 victory at Leoinr-Rhyne last Friday The Bulldogs (2-4) won four events on the day. Ashley Ireland won the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.01. Allie Snyder won a close race in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:18.87.
Junior Alessandra Troncoso captured the 100 breaststroke as she posted a mark of 1:10.22. Alexandra van Dorsten won the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.98.
Third-year coach Elizabeth Lykins is anxious for her team to race again.
“We are excited to face two conference teams at Saturday's double dual meet as we conclude a strong winter training,” stated Lykins. “This should be a competitive environment for all and a great opportunity to race as we prepare for conference championships next month.”
The Bulldogs final home meet of the year comes on Saturday, Jan. 31 when they host North Carolina A&T at Justice Center Pool starting at Noon.
