ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's swimming team is home for its final dual meet of the year when the Bulldogs host North Carolina A&T on Senior Day at Justice Center Pool starting at Noon.
Asheville has just one senior on this year's roster and that's Ashley Ireland. She will be honored prior to the meet.
The Bulldogs have a 3-5 dual meet record on the season and defeated the Aggies in Greensboro three weeks ago, 198-52.
“We are excited to host our final home meet of the season both in honor of our senior, Ashley Ireland, and as a final prep for conference championships,” stated Bulldog coach Elizabeth Lykins. “The team is looking forward to our last dual meet races of the season.”
After Friday's meet, Asheville turns its preparations to the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Championships at the University of Georgia from Feb. 18-21.
Ireland has enjoyed a great career for the Blue & White as she joined the program as a sophomore when the school re-instated swimming. She won the 50 freestyle at North Carolina A&T three weeks ago with a time of 25.10.
