“We're playing hard and battling, but we're got take the next step and find ways to win,” admitted Bulldog coach Frederico Santos. “Our youth is showing at times but we have showed flashes on potential as well. We simply just need to find some success and build on that success.”
Asheville will need to play well to have a chance at a victory on Tuesday against Wofford. The Terriers are 6-8 on the year with some good non-conference victories against Tennessee Tech and William & Mary. This will be Wofford's first match at Justice Center since the 2008 season.
“Wofford has a good team this season,” declared Santos. “We have another tough challenge in front of us Tuesday night but this is another match that will prepare us for the Big South Conference.”
Sophomore outside hitter Shelby Erickson tops the Bulldogs in kills with a 2.32 per set average. Junior outside hitter Christine Lakatos is second with a 2.26 mark. She leads the team in digs at 2.64. Freshman Kristen Clay is second on the club in digs at 2.57. Sophomore blocker Madison Vaughn leads the Bulldogs in blocks at 1.02 per set.
