Bulldogs Drop 3-0 Contest To Troy At Big Orange Bash

CLEMSON, S.C. – Playing in just their second match of the season the UNC Asheville volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-12) to Troy University on Friday afternoon at the 2014 Big Orange Bash hosted by Clemson.
Junior outside hitter Christine Lakatos led all Bulldogs with nine kills in the match, as the Blue & White fall to 0-2 on the young season.
Troy was led offensively by Blair Winston, who tallied 10 kills for the Trojans (2-0). Teammate Kiah Cheatham posted nine kills while Marija Zelenovic added eight to the Trojan total of 44 kills. Troy hit a blistering .432 in the match to pick up the victory.
Lakatos led all Bulldogs defensively as well, tallying 11 digs and two blocks (one solo) over three sets.
The Bulldogs will look to pick up their first victory of the season tomorrow afternoon when they take on host Clemson in a match set for 1 p.m.
