Track and Field Competes at Hilton Garden Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed Saturday on the second day of the Hilton Garden Invitational.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Kurt Hibert in the weight throw. Facing a tough field, he finished in eighth place with a toss of 17.04 meters.
On the women's side, Corey McClintock came in 12th in the weight throw. She had a throw of 14.75 meters.
In distance events, Rachel Carson posted a time of 5:10.37 in the mile and finished in 11th place.
Asheville's 4x400 women's relay team had a time of 4:08.67 and finished in 15th place. The foursome consisted of Kassandra Pierre, Alyssa Lashway, Kelsie Rubio and Anna Gelbech.
Pierre also competed in the 200 meters and took 18th at a time of 26.81.
