FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The UNC Asheville women's swimming team will have one more opportunity to swim before the Christmas holiday as the Bulldogs are taking part in the Shark Invitational that is being held in an outside pool at Nova Southeastern University.

The three-day event begins today but the Bulldogs will be competing on Friday and Saturday. Head Coach Elizabeth Lykins is pleased to be here. Asheville got to Florida on Monday and have been training ever since.

“We are training hard here in Florida and looking forward to racing on Friday and Saturday at the Shark Invitational,” stated Lykins. “This will be an opportunity to race against teams we don't often see.”

Also competing in the meet are Florida Southern College, Lenoir-Rhyne University, Lynn University, Rollins College and the University of Tampa.

The Bulldogs have not competed in close than a month as they took part in the Wingate Winter Frenzy (Nov. 21-23) in Charlotte.
