ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team travels to Campbell on Saturday to finish up the regular season and try and improve its positioning for next week's Big South Championship. Game time at Campbell is at 6 p.m.

If the Bulldogs (4-8-3, 2-4-2 BSC) can get the road upset tomorrow night, Asheville will be the sixth seed for the Big South Conference Tournament. The Dogs are also looking for their fourth consecutive win.

Asheville is coming off a 1-0 triumph at Presbyterian College Wednesday night. The Blue Hose gave the Dogs fits for most of the night before Paul Egle scored on a PK in the 82nd minute for the game's only goal. Asheville's 1-0 victory sealed the Bulldogs entry into the league championship for the first time since the 2011 season.

Campbell (5-11-0, 2-6-0 BSC) is going through a tough 2014 campaign. The Camels won their first three matches of the year but have not had much luck since. CU has lost six one-goal affairs and has been snake-bit for most of the season. They lost at Liberty on Wednesday, 2-1 on a late goal in Lynchburg.

“Campbell has a good team that's just been unlucky for the majority of the season,” explained Asheville coach Matt Kern. “We know Saturday will be a very difficult match as it will be Senior Day and it's always tough to play there and win. We're going to have play very good soccer on Saturday. However, it's always a great atmosphere at Campbell, and the boys are excited about playing.”

Egle leads the Bulldogs in scoring with four goals, three assists and 13 points. He has scored a goal in three consecutive matches and was named Big South Attacker of the Week on Monday. Jackson Allen is tied for the team lead in goals with four.

Senior goalkeeper Dan Jackson has been brilliant all year and has been especially good the last few weeks. He has notched two straight shutouts and made 103 saves on the season. He is second nationally in total saves and saves per game (6.9).
