ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team guns for its third straight victory on Wednesday evening when the Bulldogs travel to Presbyterian College for a key Big South Conference battle with the Blue Hose starting at 7 p.m.

Wednesday's match can be seen on the Big South Digital Network for free under the multimedia tag at uncabulldogs.com.

Wednesday's game with the Blue Hose is crucial for the Bulldogs (3-8-1, 1-4-2 BSC) in their quest to make next week's Big South Conference Championship. The top eight teams in regular-season standings make the tourney. Asheville is sitting in eighth place after a 1-0 victory over Longwood Sunday afternoon at Greenwood Field. The Bulldogs have five points after the win over the Lancers and could use three more against PC. Asheville finishes the regular-season at Campbell Saturday night.

The Blue Hose (1-13-0, 0-8-0 BSC) are playing its final game of the season on Wednesday and will celebrate Senior Night. PC has not had much luck this year but has been in most of its matches in 2014.

“The boys are really looking forward to the challenge of playing at Presbyterian on Wednesday,” said Asheville coach Matt Kern. “Our qualification and seeding for the Big South Tournament are in our hands, and we will need to be organized defensively and attack with speed to attain our desired goals.”

Senior Paul Egle tops the Dogs in scoring with three goals and three assists for nine points. He has scored a goal in back-to-back matches and was named Big South Attacker of the Week on Monday. Sophomore forward Jackson Allen leads Asheville in goal scored with four goals and eight points.

Senior goalkeeper Dan Jackson has allowed just one goal in the last two matches. His 97 total saves and 6.9 per game average are second nationally in each category.
