Natalie DeRatt Makes USA National Bobsled & Skeleton Team
11.12.2014 | Track and Field
PARK CITY, Utah – Former UNC Asheville track and field standout Natalie Pearson DeRatt has made the 2014-15 USA National Bobsled and Skeleton team. The announcement came earlier this week from The United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation.
Natalie is now a member of the nine-person United States team that will compete on the 2014-2015 World Cup and Intercontinental Cup tours.
"I am beyond excited to gain a spot on the Bobsled National Team. It's been a long road of hard work and so to see it pay-off is a dream come true,” stated DeRatt. “I couldn't have done it without the support of my awesome coach Keith Scruggs and also the UNC Asheville Coaches Joel Williams and Omar Ahmad. It's at team effort for sure. "
Natalie is one of the greatest track athletes to ever compete at UNC Asheville and the Big South. She went to the NCAA National Meet in 2010 and 2011 in the 200 meters and was named Big South Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 2011.
The World Cup tour kicks off in Lake Placid, N.Y. from Dec. 12-13, while the Intercontinental Cup tour gets underway later this month from Nov. 21-22 in Lillehammer, Norway.
