Galen Broido Named BCBSNC Athlete of the Week

Junior women's swimmer Galen Broido is this week's Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Athlete of the Week at UNC Asheville.
Each week the school selects a BCBSNC Athlete of the Week upon their performance from the previous week's action.
The Bulldog program began the season this weekend at the North Carolina Invitational in Greensboro. Galen enjoyed an outstanding meet and helped lead the Bulldogs to a seventh-place finish, the highest finish ever for Asheville.
She finished fourth on Saturday in the mile with a time of 17:48.82 beating out swimmers from N.C. State, East Carolina and Davidson in the event. Her fourth-place finish was the program's highest in history at the meet.
Broido also earned points in the 500 freestyle with an 11th place finish as she posted a time of 5:12.00. In the 400 individual medley, she had a time of 4:43.27 and took 15th in the event.
Galen and her teammates are back at home on Saturday for their home opener at Justice Center Pool vs. Campbell at 10 a.m.
