Volleyball Falls at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point controlled the match from the start as the Panthers downed UNC Asheville, 3-0 Friday night at the Mills Center in Big South Conference volleyball action. The Panthers won the match by the scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-16.
Asheville (5-20, 1-8 BSC) was led by Christine Lakatos with eight kills, seven digs and one service ace. Shelby Erickson finished with seven kills and eight digs. Katie Davis had 19 assists and seven digs. Bryn Pfeiffer had a team-high 12 digs.
Kristin Heldt led the Panthers with 13 kills. Hayley Barnes added nine kills and 10 digs.
The Bulldogs had a tough night hitting as they hit just .066 for the match and had 19 hitting errors on the night.
UNC Asheville stays on the road and plays at Campbell on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. when the Bulldogs take on the Lady Camels at Gore Arena.
Asheville returns home next weekend to face Presbyterian College (Nov. 7) and Winthrop (Nov. 8) to finish the home portion of its schedule at Justice Center.
