Men's Soccer Plays at Northern Kentucky Tonight

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS Ky. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team hits the road for a non-conference battle tonight when the Bulldogs travel to Northern Kentucky for a match that begins at 6 p.m.
Asheville (1-6-3) looks for its second victory of the season this evening, while the Norse (2-7-4) look to snap a six-game winless streak (0-5-1).
The teams played last season at Greenwood Field with Northern Kentucky winning in overtime, 2-1. Asheville was called for a foul late in the second overtime period and the Norse converted. Tevin Beckwith scored for the Bulldogs on the day.
Asheville is coming off a solid result from Saturday when the Bulldogs tied #22 Winthrop, 1-1 at Greenwood Field. Alex Eden scored for the Blue & White midway through the first half to give Asheville a 1-0 lead. It stayed that way until the 78th minute when the Eagles tied the match.
Bulldog goalkeeper Dan Jackson was brilliant as he made nine saves to give Asheville the point against the Eagles. Jackson leads the nation in saves per match with a 7.10 mark.
Jackson Allen leads Asheville in goals scored with three. Senior defender Paul Egle has a goal and three assists for five points.
The Bulldogs get back into Big South Conference play this Saturday when they travel to Liberty for a Noon start.
