Rachel Wells Third Nationally in Digs

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville senior libero Rachel Wells has moved up to third nationally in digs.
The Statesville native leads the Big South Conference and has posted a 5.90 per set average. She has accumulated 566 digs this season. Wells posted a career-high 36 digs in Asheville's 3-1 victory over High Point Friday night and then tied that mark the next day in the Bulldogs 3-0 triumph over Campbell.
As a team, Asheville is second in the Big South and 11th nationally in digs with a 17.42 average. The Bulldogs have a total of 1,672 digs this season.
Asheville is in a four-way tie for third place in the Big South Conference with a 6-4 league mark and 16-10 overall worksheet. The Bulldogs hit the road this weekend for two key Big South matches. Asheville plays at Presbyterian Friday night at 7 p.m., followed by a match at Winthrop Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
