Wells Earns Big South Honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNC Asheville libero Rachel Wells (Statesville, N.C.) has been chosen as the Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the League announced today. 
 

Wells led UNC Asheville defensively with 95 digs and 13.57 digs per set last week.  Against Liberty on Friday evening, she finished with 41 digs.  Wells followed that up with 54 digs on Saturday against Conference Champion Radford.  Her 54 digs set the high-mark in the League this season and a school record for digs in a match.
