Hemphill Named MVP of East-West All-Star Game

GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNC Asheville men's soccer signee Trey Hemphill was named MVP of the East-West All-Star Game Tuesday night at UNC Greensboro Soccer Stadium. The incoming freshman scored twice, including the game-winner as the West defeated the East, 3-2.
Hemphill, who played at T.C. Roberson HS, scored both of his goals unassisted. The game-winner came with the match tied at 2-2 with 19:27 remaining.
He finished his career with the fourth-most goals (87) in Roberson history. Hemphill was the 2011 Asheville Citizen-Times All-WNC Player of the Year and Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
Hemphill was one of four future Bulldogs to be selected to play in the game with three playing. Goalkeeper Jaron Bradley was the starter for the West squad and earned the win as he made one save in the win. Bradley played at Hough in Charlotte. Erik Casterline of High Point was selected to play but could not due to his club team playing the USSDA Academy finals in Texas. Andrew Sotak of Fuquay-Varina played for the East squad.
