Women's Track & Field Team Honored by USTFCCCA

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association announced recently that the UNC Asheville women's track team has been recognized as a 2011 All-Academic Track & Field team.
The Bulldogs posted an impressive 3.24 GPA during the spring semester. Asheville was one of 164 institutions that earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better.
"We're very proud of our work in the classroom," commented Bulldog coach Jesse Norman. "We want to do well on the track but our student-athletes are here to get an education first and foremost. This year's track and field team did a great job in the spring semester, and we plan to keep it up."
UNC Asheville was one of four Big South Conference schools to be honored as Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb and Liberty were also recognized.
