Bussard Captures Steeplechase at Liberty on Thursday

LYNCHBURG, VA. - UNC Asheville junior Emma Bussard finished first in the 3000-meter Steeplechase at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier Thursday night at Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex at Osborne Stadium.

Bussard topped the field with an impressive time of 10:58. She finished 12 seconds ahead of Hailey Neal of Liberty.

"Emma ran a solid race and it's always good to finish first," stated Bulldog coach Jesse Norman. "We're still trying to get her to qualify for the Regionals and we need to get her time down a few more seconds."
