Lassi Hurskainen Named Big South Defender of Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - No. 23 Coastal Carolina forward Ashton Bennett has been tabbed the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Soccer Attacking Player of the Week, while Lassi Hurskainen of UNC Asheville garnered the Defensive Player of the Week honor for games played Sept. 26-Oct. 2, the League announced today.
Hurskainen, a senior from Joensuu, Finland, posted 13 saves to help his squad to a 1-0-1 record, including a Big South win over Radford on Oct. 1. He got his week started with seven saves in a double overtime tie with Appalachian State on Sept. 27. He followed that effort with six saves in the 1-0 overtime win against the Highlanders. Both contests were on the road as Appalachian State and Radford were each regionally ranked.
