Natalie Pearson Named Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Year

Natalie Pearson & Simon Haake Set to Compete in NCAA East Regional

GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNC Asheville track and field standouts Natalie Pearson and Simon Haake arrived in Greensboro today to get ready for their performances in the NCAA East Regional that will be held at Irwin Belk Track.

Pearson will compete in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash this weekend. Her first race will be Thursday at 6 p.m.

Haake will be competing in the javelin. His first competition will be on Friday starting at 10 a.m.

"Natalie and Simon have trained hard and are in good shape heading into this weekend's action," stated Bulldog head coach Jesse Norman. "Natalie has the experience from last year and is determined to make a good showing at this regional.

"Simon has done a great job this year," added Norman. "I know he's very determined to have some great throws this weekend."
