UNC Asheville Volleyball Begins Preparations for 2010 Season

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville volleyball coach and Senior Woman Administrator Julie Torbett was named as a TWIN honoree Thursday night at the annual TWIN Awards Banquet held at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Asheville.

Torbett was one of 29 women honored on Thursday. TWIN stands for Tribute to Women of Influence. The Big South Conference's all-time winningest coach led the Bulldogs to the 2009 Big South Conference regular season title and a 25-10 overall record. Torbett's team set a school record for Big South Conference wins in 2009 with 13. She was named Big South Conference Coach for the second time in her career. In addition, her team did an outstanding job in the classroom with four of her student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0 GPA.
