ASHEVILLE, NC - The UNC Asheville men's and women's indoor track and field teams are back in action this Friday at the Gene Anderson Invitational hosted by UNC Chapel Hill.
Action is scheduled to kickoff at 3 p.m. with preliminaries in the 60-high hurdles and the 60-meter dash. Both Bulldogs teams return to competition after having a two-week layoff from competing. Third-year head coach, Jesse Norman is anxious to see how his teams will perform this weekend after being away from competition awhile.
"In the last two weeks we have been making our adjustments as a team and individually." stated Norman "This is our final opportunity for our distance runners, sprinters and hurdlers to improve on their season performances before the conference meet."
In action this weekend for the men is Eli Chirchir. Chirchir will make his second appearance at 800 meters this season. He recorded a 1:56.84 back in January at the Niswonger Invitational. His fellow colleague Raymond Urrutia will be looking to improve on his school record mark of 7.05 in the 60 meters this weekend. Urrutia is also scheduled to make his season debut in the 400 meters.
