Volleyball Plays in Tournament at USC Upstate

The Bulldogs (3-2) faces ACC foe N.C. State on Friday at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, Julie Torbett's club takes on The Citadel and USC Upstate.
Before looking ahead to this weekend, Torbett looked back at Asheville's dominating win over WCU on Wednesday. The Bulldogs won the match in three sets, 25-13, 25-19, 25-17.
"We really played well on Wednesday night," commented Torbett. "I thought we got a great effort from everyone who played. Our passing was crisp and did a sensational job serving. We'll need to build on Wednesday's effort for the rest of the season."
Asheville faces a tough weekend at USC Upstate. The Bulldogs earned their first win over an ACC team last season when they edged the Wolfpack in five sets in Raleigh. Torbett's team played The Citadel last weekend in Winston-Salem State and had to rally for a five-set victory. USC Upstate is always tough to beat at home.
"We'll need to play well this weekend," admitted Torbett. "We face three tough opponents and it's going to take a great effort to win any of those matches."
