Hurskainen Named Big South Men's Soccer Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville goalkeeper Lassi Hurskainen has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sept. 14-20, it was announced today by the League office.
Hurskainen, a sophomore from Joensuu, Finland, led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record and their first tournament win in more than 20 years as he collected 25 saves for Asheville. Against Lipscomb on Sept. 18, Hurskainen recorded 15 saves as the Bulldogs downed the Bison, 2-1. Two days later against Belmont, he notched 10 saves in the Bulldogs' 2-1 double-overtime win against the Bruins. Hurskainen was named to the Lipscomb Hyatt Place Select All-Tournament Team for his efforts in the two-match span.
