Pearson Competes in Northern Athletics Senior/U20 Champs

MANCHESTER ? UNC Asheville sprinter Natalie Pearson competed this past weekend in the Northern Athletics Senior/U20 Championships held at the Sport City Manchester Complex in her native England.

Pearson competed in the senior division of 100 and 200 meters. The Sheffield native posted a third-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 24.70.

She finished fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.22.

“This is great experience for Natalie,” commented UNC Asheville coach Jesse Norman. “We're proud of her for competing in this prestigious event.”

Pearson enjoyed a great 2009 season for the Bulldog track and field. She earned all-conference honors in both indoor and outdoor track and field. The rising senior became the first UNC Asheville runner in three years to qualify for the NCAA Regional held in Greensboro. In addition, she was named UNC Asheville Female Athlete of the Year.
