Pearson Concludes Season at East Regional Meet

GREENSBORO, N.C.?Natalie Pearson, the last UNC Asheville athlete to compete this season finished the 2009 season with a sixth place performance in her heat at the NCAA East Region Meet hosted by North Carolina A&T on Friday night.
Pearson ran in the third preliminary heat posting a time of 12.10 in the women's 100 meters. Her time was .36 off her qualifying time of 11.74 that she ran at Clemson on May 9. Dianne Munroe of Bethune-Cookman won the heat with a time of 11.74. Murielle Ahoure of Miami (Fla.) had the fastest time of the day at 11.14 which was .30 seconds faster than the next highest qualifier Trisha Anne Hawthorne of Connecticut.
The women's 100 meter finals will be ran on Saturday.
Although she does not qualify for Saturday's final, Pearson, a junior, finishes the season the winner of six different races. She has two second place finishes and four third place finishes.
