Julie Torbett's team has a 15-5 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark in league play after a convincing 3-0 victory at Presbyterian Tuesday night. The Bulldogs are starting to get healthy after struggling with some injuries. Torbett is looking forward to this weekend.
"We've got two big matches with High Point and Liberty," stated Torbett. "We're starting to get healthier, and I was very pleased with our play at Presbyterian. We're going to need another effort like that with both matches."
The Panthers (10-10, 0-4 BSC) have won the last two times they've come to Justice Center, including a five-set thriller last year. They have lost some close league matches but own a three-set win over N.C. State earlier this season.
"High Point has had some tough luck in league play but they are certainly capable of making a run at a conference championship," said Torbett. "They posted some very impressive non-conference wins and are talented."
Liberty (9-7, 4-0 BSC) is tied with Asheville for first place in league play. The Flames have won the last two league championships and were picked to do that again this season.
"Liberty is the favorite until someone beats them," admitted Torbett. "They have most of their team back from last year and will be tough to beat."
