10.05.2009 | Men's Soccer
Asheville (4-6-1, 0-1-0 BSC) is coming off a tough 2-1 loss against High Point on Saturday. The Bulldogs led 1-0 at halftime on a goal from David Parra before the Panthers rallied for a victory in the second half with two goals.
Presbyterian enjoyed a big win on Saturday as the Blue Hose downed Radford 1-0 for the program's first ever Big South Conference victory. PC is 2-7-0 on the season but has a 1-2-0 record in league play after Saturday's home victory.
"Presbyterian earned a good result on Saturday with its win against Radford," commented Bulldog coach Steve Cornish. "Presbyterian's record is quite misleading as it has been in every match. Our lads must put the High Point match behind them and be ready to play on Tuesday."
Asheville was out-played for much of the match on Saturday before coming to life in the final 20 minutes of the match against High Point. The Bulldogs fired the final seven shots of the game and just missed tying the match with one minute left.
NOTES - Asheville has scored 11 goals on the season and has eight different goal-scorers...the Bulldogs have scored at least one goal in six straight matches after not scoring in three consecutive matches prior to that...Asheville's next home game after the Presbyterian match won't be until Oct. 31 when the Bulldogs entertain Coastal Carolina...the Dogs play their next four matches away from home.
