ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The Big South-leading UNC Asheville volleyball team begins an arduous four-game road trip Saturday afternoon when the Bulldogs travel to Charleston Southern for a 2 p.m. match.

Asheville (20-7, 9-1 BSC) is in first place in the Big South Conference, a game ahead of defending champion Liberty. The Bulldogs have bounced back from a two-game losing streak with home league wins over Radford and Presbyterian this past week. However, Asheville will have a tough test at Charleston Southern. The Bulldogs edged the Lady Bucs back on Oct. 2 in five sets at Justice Center. Asheville won the fifth set, 15-13 after trailing 8-4.

"Charleston Southern played us very tough at our place and always gives us fits when we play them at their place," commented Bulldog coach Julie Torbett. "We must be ready to play at our absolute best to have a chance at winning on Saturday."

The Bulldogs do not play at home again until Nov. 13 and have road matches left at Gardner-Webb, Liberty and High Point.

"We need to focus on one match at a time," stated Torbett. "All four will be difficult and challenging but we're just going to worry about Charleston Southern this weekend."

NOTES - UNC Asheville is 5-1 on the road this year and 8-5 away from Asheville...the Bulldogs and Bucs have gone five sets the last three times the teams have played...Julie Torbett has 280 career wins...the Bulldogs have 20 wins for the first time since the 2005 season...Kelsey Benorden has 12 double-doubles.
