ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville men's soccer team will play its second and final exhibition game Saturday night at Memorial Stadium in downtown Asheville when the Bulldogs take on East Tennessee State starting at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Memorial Stadium is located right behind McCormick Field where the Asheville Tourists and UNC Asheville baseball team plays home games.

The Bulldogs opened exhibition play against King College on Thursday and posted a 3-0 victory. Patrick Tate scored twice, while Nathan Neal added a goal and two assists.

Asheville coach Steve Cornish was overall pleased with his team's effort on Thursday.

“We played some good soccer on Thursday at times,” commented Cornish. “I thought some of our new lads came in and contributed right away.”

East Tennessee State is resuming men's soccer and is fielding its first team since 1981. The Buccaneers also played King in exhibition play and won, 2-0.

“I'm quite pleased that East Tennessee State is adding soccer,” commented Cornish. “They had a good result against King. We will have to play well to have a chance at winning.”

The Bulldogs open the 2008 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Greenwood Field when they host Appalachian State starting at 2 p.m.
