Cross County Picked 6th & 7th in Big South Preseason Poll

CLEMMONS, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NCAA Southeast Regional on Saturday at Tanglewood State Park.

The men's team finished in 28th place in the 10-kilometer race.  Freshman Sam Maynard was the top finisher for the Bulldogs with a  172nd place finish in a time of 35:28.60.

Big South member Liberty took 5th in the men's team competition.  Liberty redshirt sophomore Sam Chelanga won the 10K race with a time of 29:53.40.

In the women's 6K race, Bulldog freshman Emma Bussard came in 159th with a time of 23:56.7.
