Men's Soccer Places Two on Second Team & All-Rookie Squad

CONWAY, S.C. - The UNC Asheville men's soccer team had two players make second team all-conference and two players make the all-rookie team at the BIg South Conference's awards banquet held at Coastal Carolina Wednesday night.
Senior forward Scott Szymanski and senior defender Patrick Tate both earned spots on the Big South's second team. Szymanski made the second team for the second straight season as he leads the Bulldogs in goals scored with five. Three of those five goals have been game-winners. Tate has started all 17 matches for UNC Asheville and helped anchor a defense that has allowed just 21 goals and produced three shutouts.
Rookie goalkeeper Lassi Hurskainen and defender J.J. Morrow made the league's All-Rookie team. Hurskainen started and played every minute of the Bulldogs' 17 matches this year. He has posted a 1.16 goals against average and earned three shuouts. In eight league matches. his goals against average is just 0.94. Morrow has started in 16 games and done a great job in the back.
Making the Big South All-Academic team from UNC Asheville was senior midfielder Nate Neal.
