CHARLOTTE, N.C. ? UNC Asheville outside hitter Cindi Miller was tabbed the New Balance Freshman of the Week for matches played Nov. 3-9, the Big South Conference announced today.
Miller, a middle blocker from Decatur, Ind., registered 41 kills, 3.42 kills per set and hit .309 at the net to help her Bulldogs to three Big South wins last week. Miller posted double-digit kills in all three matches for UNC Asheville and highlighted her week with 17 kills against the No. 2 ranked team in the Big South, Liberty. On the defensive side of the ball, Miller came up with 11 digs and posted three blocks. The honor marks the second time this season she has earned Freshman of the Week accolades.
UNC Asheville has won five straight and seven of its last eight matches. The Bulldogs have a 15-11 overall record and are 7-6 in league play.
