“We played pretty well at times against Radford but gave up two goals and that was the difference,” commented Asheville head coach Steve Cornish. “We had some opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net and just didn't do so.”

Asheville faces a tough Gardner-Webb squad on Wednesday. The Runnin' Bulldogs are in there first year of Big South Conference play. Asheville posted a 4-0 victory against Gardner-Webb last year but the Runnin' Bulldogs are much improved. They have a 4-7-0 overall record but are 3-1 in league play with victories over Radford and Coastal Carolina.

Wednesday's game is Highland Football Club day and the entire HFC organizion and teams are schedued to be at the match. HFC has helped produce seven members of this year's Bulldog team. Assistant Coach Matt Kern and Cornish assist in the league.

“Gardner-Webb has a good club,” declared Cornish. “They have posted some impressive results in league play. Any team that owns wins over Radford and Coastal Carolina will be a handful. Our lads must play well on Wednesday to have a shot at winning.”
