ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville men's soccer team puts its two-game winning streak and unbeaten record in Big South play on the line Saturday at home when the Bulldogs host league foe Radford at Greenwood Field starting at 2 p.m. Admission is free. The match will be video-streamed for a small fee on the Big South Edge at www.bigssouthsports.com.

UNC Asheville (4-4-1, 2-0-0 BSC) is off to its best start in league play since the 2004 season when the Bulldogs began with three straight victories. They face a stern test in Radford. The Highlanders are 6-4-1 overall and 2-1-0 in league play.

Steve Cornish's club has posted two straight 2-1 victories in Big South play. Last Saturday, Asheville trailed VMI 1-0 late before tying the match on a goal from Alex Morrow with less than two minutes in regulation. Senior Patrick Tate scored the game-winner in overtime with 24 seconds remaining in the first overtime period.

The Bulldogs won on the road Tuesday night at Presbyterian. Senior forward Scott Szymanski scored both of Asheville's goals to give the Dogs the victory.

“We've posted two nice results but there are no easy matches in the Big South,” declared Cornish. “Radford is an excellent team. They have earned some very good wins in the first half of the year. We played well against VMI and Presbyterian but we're going to have to play even better against a well-coached Radford squad.”

Symanski leads Asheville in goals scored with three, while Morrow has two goals and two assists for six points. Goalkeeper Lassi Hurskainen has played well in goal with a 1.34 goals against average.
