ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's soccer team plays the second of three exhibition matches Wednesday afternoon at Greenwood Field when the Bulldogs host King College starting at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
UNC Asheville played at Davidson Sunday afternoon and lost, 1-0. Bulldog head coach Steve Cornish expects a strong match from King. The Tornados finished last season with a 13-6-1 overall record.
"King is traditionally a very strong team from its conference," stated Cornish. "They have some excellent players from England and their senior class has enjoyed a great deal of success. Our lads must be ready to play against King if we hope to get a result."
Cornish liked what he saw on Sunday at Davidson for the most part.
"Our first team performed quite well at Davidson," commented Cornish. "We have things we need to improve on but overall it was a good effort."
The Bulldogs play their final exhibition game in Morganton on Saturday when they take on UNC Chapel Hill starting at 7 p.m.
