ROCK HILL, S.C. ? Junior forward Scott Szymanski and junior defender Edwin Wotortsi earned second team Big South All-Conference honors Wednesday night at the league's annual awards banquet at Winthrop.
In addition, senior David Verga made the Big South All-Academic team for men's soccer for the third straight year.
Szymanski has enjoyed a breakout year for the Bulldogs in 2007. He leads Asheville in scoring with eight goals and two assists for 18 points. The Asheville native made the all-tournament team at the Kentucky Invitational to open the season and has helped account for more than half of the Bulldogs 17 goals this year.
Wotortsi made the second team for the second straight year as he anchored a strong UNC Asheville defense during the 2007 season.
