ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville volleyball team will try to shake off some frustrating losses last weekend as the Bulldogs will play in the Mercer Bear Brawl in Macon, Ga. this weekend.
UNC Asheville (1-7) takes on Mercer Friday at 10 a.m. before meeting UAB at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs finish up on Saturday with Nicholls State at 10 a.m.
Asheville played hard and battled but just couldn't get a victory last weekend at the UNC Asheville Invitational. The Bulldogs took UNC Greensboro to five games before falling and then took East Tennessee State to four games before losing.
"We're still a young team with a lot of freshmen playing," stated Asheville coach Julie Torbett. "Our effort has been very good and we're close to getting it all together. I think when we do we're going to be a good team."
