Women's Cross Country Takes 6th at South Carolina - UNC Asheville Bulldogs Official Athletics Site

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The UNC Asheville women's cross country squad opened the 2006 season with a strong sixth place finish at the Gamecock Invitational Friday night.
The Bulldogs got a great performance from junior Emily Mase who finished in fifth place. She ran the 5K course in a time of 18:54.
"This is a great first step for our program tonight," stated Bulldog coach Dean Duncan. "We didn't have our full team and we still finished in the top six. Overall, I couldn't be happier."
UNC Asheville got a great performance from Erika Walker who finished in 30th place at a time of 19:46. Liza Duncan took 41st place with a time of 19:58.
Senior Sara Huckbody ran a solid race and took 53rd at a time of 20:35. Ingrid Allstaedt rounded out Asheville's runners with a time of 20:48, good for 53rd spot.
UNC Asheville competes again Friday night in Black Mountain when it hosts the first ever Bulldog Invitational starting at 5:30 p.m.
